A Wi-Fi site survey is the basis for stable and high-performance Wi-Fi networks in companies. We use professional on-site measurements to identify dead spots, sources of interference, channel overlaps or bottlenecks in data throughput.

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology – e.g. Ekahau AI Pro and Sidekick 2 – we analyze the actual Wi-Fi coverage in offices, warehouses or production facilities. We visualize the results in clear heat maps, which serve as a basis for planning and recommendations for optimization.

Site survey procedure

Preparation

We need the floor plans or building or site plans of the object to be measured in advance. We integrate these into the measurement software. We mainly use the industry-standard EKAHAU AI Pro software.

Measurement

An experienced technician comes to you and systematically measures the Wi-Fi in all relevant areas – using professional equipment (e.g. Ekahau Sidekick 2). Signal strength, channel distribution, interference and other parameters are recorded.

Report

We then prepare all the measurement results in a professional report. You receive heat maps, detailed analyses and clear recommendations for action to optimize your Wi-Fi.

What we can measure

Signal strength (RSSI)

Shows how strong the Wi-Fi signal is being received in dBm – only more professional than any smartphone display.

Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)

The quality of the signal. Indicates how good the signal is compared to the background noise – crucial for stable connections.

Second signal strength (redundancy)

For reliability: Should an access point fail, is an alternative signal available?

Channel overlaps

Wi-Fi is divided into channels in the 2.4 Ghz, 5 Ghz and 6 Ghz bands. Channel overlaps of the same channels lead to a loss of performance.

Interference sources (interference)

The 2.4 GHz band in particular is also used by other devices such as Bluetooth headphones, radios and microwaves.

Data throughput

With Active Site Survey, we also measure upload and download speeds – how fast can data actually be transferred in the Wi-Fi?
