The cost of a Wi-Fi survey in a hotel depends mainly on the number of rooms, the number of floors and the structural complexity – a modern new build is served differently from a maze-like historic building with thick walls and fire doors. Flat-rate prices would therefore be misleading. In the free initial consultation we give you a first estimate and then a transparent fixed-price quote, so you know exactly where you stand in advance.

In a Wi-Fi site survey, we measure the actual current state of your Wi-Fi on site – or, for new builds, the structural conditions. With professional measurement technology (Ekahau AI Pro & Sidekick 2), we record signal strength, interference and dead zones and present the result as a heatmap. That way you can see in black and white where your Wi-Fi is weak and why.

Hotels are a real challenge for Wi-Fi: thick old walls, reinforced concrete, fire doors and winding corridors swallow the radio signal. On top of that, many guests often stream and work at the same time. That’s exactly why it isn’t enough to hang access points in the corridors by gut feeling – it takes measurement and planning that account for the building fabric and user density.

Connection dropouts on smartphones, laptops or smart TVs usually have one of three causes: too few or poorly placed access points, interference from other radio sources, or faulty roaming between the APs – in which case the guest has to log in again in every area. A Wi-Fi measurement clearly shows which cause applies in your case. On that basis, the problem can be fixed in a targeted way instead of blindly buying more hardware.

A Wi-Fi heatmap is a colored map of your hotel showing how strong the Wi-Fi signal is at every point – from green (very good) to red (dead zone). It makes Wi-Fi problems in rooms, corridors and common areas visible and serves as the basis for planning the access point positions. Even before installation, the simulated heatmap shows you the coverage you can expect after the work is done.

That depends on the size and scope of the property. Measuring a typical hotel is often done in one to two days, with planning following within a few days. Because the same team plans and installs, the weeks of coordination between a planning office and an electrical company are eliminated – so you’re finished much faster than with the traditional approach. On request, we work in a way that keeps the running hotel operation as undisturbed as possible.

In many cases, yes. Whether your existing access points and switches are sufficient is shown by the measurement: sometimes the problem is only placement or configuration, sometimes a partial replacement makes sense. We only recommend what is technically really necessary – and we’ll also tell you when your hardware can stay.
